Instructions to the author
The Kuwait Journal of Science is an international journal that publishes papers in the fields of Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Biological Sciences, and Earth Environmental studies. The journal publishes papers reporting original contributions to scientific knowledge. While submitting the manuscript, the author(s) should indicate his/her field of specialization. Research articles in a language other than English are NOT entertained. Correction of the English language is not the responsibility of the Editorial board of KJS. Authors(s) not fluent in English are asked to get their manuscripts checked by a high qualified professional language editor.
Please note that once you receive the referees' reports you cannot withdraw the paper. If violated, our policy is to inform your affiliation, block your name and report the case to other journals in the field. There is also a penalty for withdrawing the manuscript after the review process.
Online submission of the research paper
1- Authors are required to fill up the entire authors' names when they fill up the metadata to submit the paper.
2- It is important to mention the correct corresponding author with his/her email and full corresponding address.
3- The copyright form should be downloaded (Click here) fill it up and get it signed by all the authors and uploaded as a supplementary file at the time of submission of the paper.
4- Manuscripts with a plagiarism test index of less than 25% only will be chosen for review processing.

2- For speedy communication, all authors are encouraged to supply E-mail addresses, along with the submission of manuscripts.
3- If there is any change in the address of an author, Inform KJS as well as authors should send a proof document.
General
1- Manuscripts should be in standard English; American spelling versions are accepted but consistency must be maintained.
2- Concise, well-thought-out, and prepared papers adhering to the style of the journal are likely to be published sooner than those in need of extensive editing and revision. The journal will enforce its style on papers accepted for publication. It is the responsibility of authors to ensure adherence to guidelines outlined in "Instructions to Authors".
3- The authors should declare that the paper sent is original and no part of it has been published before or is being considered for publication in any other journal.
4- Publication in the Journal is free of charge.
Preparation of Manuscript
1- The main text should be paginated, starting with the title, abstract and ending with the Reference page(s). Page numbers should appear in the middle on top of the pages. Figures and Table captions should be inserted within the text at the appropriate places.
2- Manuscripts must be typewritten with single spacing and wide margins (25mm) at all sides. A font type of "Times New Roman" and size of "12 points" is required. The document format should be in MS word, PDF/LaTeX.
3- Names of the authors and their affiliations must be centralized followed by an abstract in one column. KJS prefers justified text.
4- Words to be printed in italics should appear as italics in the manuscript. Genus and species must be italicized.
5- Each paragraph shall start with 5 space tab, except the first paragraph immediately after the headings.
6-Papers accepted for publication will be limited to a maximum word count of 4000.
Title
1- The title should be in lower case characters except for the first letter.
Example: A study of science
2- Author names should be in the following format.
Example: George M. Mathew (For “George Mario Mathew”), Alfred M. Luis, James Philip (if no middle name). The middle name should be abbreviated.
3- The order of the Author' names should be suffixed with the number in superscript.
Example: George M. Mathew 1, Alfred M. Luis 2, James Philip3.
4-If the affiliation for all the authors is the same then superscript is not needed.
All affiliation should be written in italics
Example: 1Dept. or Equivalent, Organization, City, State, Country
5- Corresponding author's name should be identified with a superscript asterisk *
Example: George M. Mathew 1, *.
6- The contact address of all authors should be present on the first page of the manuscript and should mention only the email address of the corresponding author.
Abstract
- The abstract should not exceed the number of 300 words.
- It should state the objective achieved and should provide the main findings of the work described in the paper.
- It should be independent of the text and should not contain abbreviations or bibliographical references.
Keywords
1- Five keywords (not more or less) relating to the concerned subject should be given in alphabetical order separated by semicolons (;).
2-Only the first word of the keyword must be capitalized and the remaining words must be in lowercase.
Example: Bacillus; biopesti
Text Headings
1- The main text should follow the abstract and conform to the current style of the Journal. The following hierarchy for headings should be used.
2- Heading and subheadings should be left indented lower case characters (except the first letter). All main headings should be numbered and in bold characters. Sub-headings should be in normal characters (not bold) and shall follow the number from main headings (Example: 1. Heading, 1.1 Sub Heading 1.2 Sub Heading, etc.)
Figures, Photographs, and Maps
1- All illustrations are called Figures, should be referred to as figures at the start of the sentence. Figure parts are referenced as Fig. 1.
2- Figures should be numbered serially, appear in the text in order and written as "Figure" in text.
3- All composite figures should be mounted together and the parts labeled (a), (b), (c), etc. Page size montages of photographs count as a single figure. Avoid mixed montages of photographs and line drawings.
4- Original diagram should be prepared in high-quality digital image PS or EPS. All figures and tables must show error bars (where applicable) with 300-400-dpm resolution.
5- The maximum printed size is 170 x 250 mm. Letters and numerals should not be less than 1mm after reduction. Regular Times or Helvetica typeface with a final (printed) size of 6pt to 8pt type, and equivalent line weights, are preferred. (If drawn for intended 50% reduction, use 12pt to 16pt fonts). A small range of a print size (less than two fold) is recommended.

6- Clear digital photographs (high resolution) are accepted in TIF or GIF formats.
7- Maps and field sketches must include a metric bar scale. Regional maps must include a North arrow and at least 2 latitude and 2 longitude numbers on each of its respective sides; National Grid numbers may also be used. Map keys should be given on map or figure, not as numbered boxes.
Tables
1- References to tables in the text should appear in Table 2.
2- Each table should have a brief descriptive title set above the body of the table.
3- Tables shall appear without inside vertical and horizontal grid lines. Only the first row with headings of the Table should follow a horizontal line. The Table should be closed with a horizontal line.
4-Tables should be numbered serially and should appear in the text in order without breaking paragraphs.

Acknowledgments
1- Acknowledgments should follow the main text with the heading ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS.
2- Personal acknowledgments should precede those of institutions or agencies only (not referees).
3- The funding agency which supported the work must be mentioned.
References
Citations must be given in Harvard style in the text (Salama et al., 1991; Misfir, 1988), or Salama et al. (1991) or according to Misfir (1988) and Kepper & Astry (1993)., If two or more works by different authors or authoring bodies are cited at one point in the text, use a semi-colon to separate them: (Larsen 2000; Malinowski 1999)

1- All references should be cited in the article.
2- References should not be numbered and et al. should be in italic format
3- The year in references should be within brackets and bold. Example: (1981).
4- An alphabetical list of all literature cited in the text should follow the text, headed by References, and single spaces in Times New Roman font size 12. Names of the periodicals should be given in full.

Appendices
Appendices are encouraged for specific details on methodology, mathematics, or voluminous data.
Mathematics
1- Authors must provide instructions on how symbols and equations should be set.
2- Equations should be numbered sequentially on the right-hand side and in parenthesis.
Example:
X+Y=10 (1)
Equation 1 can be solved by giving values to y and x
Revision of Manuscripts
- Manuscripts must be returned to the Editor-in-Chief within 1 month of the author's receipt of referees' reports. Revision time is around 1 month, otherwise, the submission has been removed.
- Kindly note that the revised MS should be strict as per our format and the MS should be professionally checked and corrected by a language editor (if needed).
- After finishing the review process, it is compulsory to fill and send them back the following file along with the revised file. Click here to download the file.
Accepted Paper
1- The acceptance letter will be provided only upon the receipt of the final edited MS after acceptance.
2- After acceptance of the MS, the final MS will be emailed to the corresponding author to be checked for typesetting and editing.
3- Check proofs thoroughly and return them within 48 hrs to the publisher from the date of receipt.
