Shafiqah Alawadhi is working as a Professor at the Department of Statistics and Operations Research, Kuwait University, Kuwait. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Statistics and computer science from Kuwait University in 1989, MSc in statistics in 1994, and Ph.D. in Statistics in 1998 both from the University of Aberdeen (Scotland, UK). Her research interests are in General Statistical Science, Bayesian Statistics especially subjective probability assessment, Environmental Statistics, Time Series Analysis, and Multivariate Statistics Professor Alawadhi published more than 50 articles in refereed journals, presented 36 papers in conferences.

Professor Emad-Eldin Aly is currently working as a Professor at the Department of Statistics and Operations Research, Faculty of Science, Kuwait University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Statistics from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada in 1981. His Areas of Research Interests are Distribution Theory, Applied Statistics, Integer-valued Time Series, and Nonparametric Data Analysis. Published more than 80 articles in refereed journals.

A. Ridha Mahjoub is Professor of Operations Research at Kuwait University, and Professor Emeritus at Paris-Dauphine University, France. Previous positions include Assistant Professor at King Saud University, Ryiadh, Saudi Arabia (1986-1991), full professor at the University of Brest, France (1991-1998), and the University of Clermont-Ferrand, France (1998-2007). Dr. Mahjoub holds an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from University of Tunis, Tunisia and a Ph.D. and a Doctorat d’Etat in Operations Research and Combinatorial Optimization from the University of Grenoble, France. His research areas include the theory and applications of polyhedral approaches for modelling, analysing and solving large NP-hard combinatorial optimization problems, mixed integer programming as well as complexity and graph theory. A part of his research has recently focused on the design of cutting plane algorithms for network design problems. Dr. Mahjoub is author and co-author of more than 100 papers. Several of his papers appeared in leading journals such as Mathematical Programming, Mathematics of Operations Research, SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics, SIAM Journal on Optimization, Discrete Mathematics, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Discrete Optimization, Informs Journal on Computing, Operations Research Letters, Networks… He served as Co-Director of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department at Paris-Dauphine University between 2008 and 2013. Dr. Mahjoub supervised more than 25 Ph.D. Theses. He edited and co-edited several books and special issues of journals. He initiated the international conference ISCO (International Symposium on Combinatorial Optimization). He currently serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the international journal RAIRO-Operations Research. He also served as Area-Editor of the journal Computers & Industrial Engineering, Advisory Editor of EURO Journal on Computational Optimization and Associate Editor of Journal of Combinatorial Optimization. Dr. Mahjoub won in 2019 the lifetime achievement award in recognition of the contribution to promoting scientific research from the Tunisian Society of Operations Research. He also got in 2019 the Honorary award of the IEEE Society.

Prof. Samir Jaoua is working as a Full Professor at the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, at the College of Arts and Sciences at Qatar University. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Technology of Compiegne (France). He is also a qualified Professor in French universities, a Professor at the University of Sfax (Tunisia), and an official member of the Committee of Professors at the University of Sassari (Italy). Prof. Samir Jaoua is Microbiologist and molecular and microbial Biotechnologist, having more than 33 years of experience in microbiology and molecular & Microbial Biotechnology in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Tunisia, and Qatar. He has been teaching BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. courses in Microbiology, Molecular and Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Genetic engineering and DNA Technology, Environmental genomics and bioengineering, and many others. He has supervised 19 successfully defended PhDs, in addition to many BSc senior projects and MSc theses. He is mainly the senior author of more than 145 international original research articles in international peer-reviewed Scopus and web of Sc. Journals.

Zaid Hussain received the B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Kuwait University, Kuwait, in 2006, the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Oregon State University, USA, in 2008 and 2011, respectively. Since 2011, he has been with Kuwait University, Kuwait, where he is an associate professor with the Computer Science Department.

Dr. Elias Vagenas is a Professor of the Dept. of Physics at Kuwait University. He studied at the University of Athens, Greece, and he was awarded his Ph.D. degree in 2002. Then, he did a postdoc at the University of Barcelona, Spain, (2002-2004) and a second postdoc at the University of Athens, Greece, (2005-2007). In 2008, Dr. Elias Vagenas was elected as Researcher C at the Research Center for Astronomy and Applied Mathematics of the Academy of Athens and, in 2011, he got his tenure and was promoted to Researcher B. In Sept. 2013, he moved to Kuwait University as Associate Professor and joined the Theoretical Physics Group in the Department of Physics. Dr. Elias Vagenas serves as Editor for many scientific journals, e.g., Universe, Gravitation and Cosmology, Advances in High Energy Physics. Additionally, he is the Review Editor for the International Journal of Modern Physics D and Modern Physics Letters A. Furthermore, he acts as a referee for more than 15 scientific journals. Dr. Elias Vagenas has published more than 60 articles in refereed journals with more than 5,000 citations (Google Scholar) and h-index 38.

Dr. Belal Salameh is an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics, Kuwait University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2005 from the University of Stuttgart, Germany in Experimental Solid-State Physics and Materials Science. Then, he did a postdoc at the University of South Paris 11, France (2005 – 2006). He Joined Tafila Technical University, Jordan in 2006. Then he did a second postdoc at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany (2007 – 2008). In January 2014, he moved to Kuwait University as Associate Professor and joined the Condensed Matter Physics Research Group in the Department of Physics. His Areas of Research Interests are semiconducting thin films and nanoparticles for applications in the field of optoelectronics and spintronics, and magnetism in strongly correlated electrons systems. Dr. Belal Salameh serves as a referee for many scientific journals. He has published more than 40 articles in refereed journals.

Dr. Aurelian Bejancu obtained his Ph. D. from DAMTP, University of Cambridge, UK. Presently he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Kuwait University. His research field is in Approximation Theory (spline interpolation, radial basis functions, box-splines, polyharmonic splines), and published 15 papers in refereed journals and 5 papers in refereed conference proceedings. He is nominated as “Excellent Reviewer” by the Journal of Approximation Theory in 2015.

Dr. Milica Andelic is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Kuwait University. She graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Belgrade, Serbia. She obtained a PhD degree in 2011 from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, in the area of Graph Theory. She was a postdoctoral research fellow at University of Aveiro from 2012 to 2015. Dr. M. Andelic joined Kuwait University in 2014. She serves as a reviewer to many prestigious journals in the area of Linear Algebra, Graph Theory and Discrete Mathematics. She participated in more than 20 international conferences and, in several, as an invited speaker. She also organized two international conferences. She participated in 13 research projects, many of them realized in collaboration with reputable mathematicians from South Korea, Italy, Iran, Serbia, Portugal, Ukraine etc. So far she has published more than 40 research papers in prestigious journals.

Dr.Nedaa Ali Alsarraf is an associate professor at Kuwait University, Kuwait. She received her B.Sc. degree from Kuwait University, Kuwait, in 1988, and MPhil and PhD in Bacterial taxonomy, from Bristol University, UK, in 1997. Her research interest mainly Bacterial taxonomy, microbial bioremediation and biodegradation of oil contaminated environments, and current research interest in nano-bioremediation. Supervised several MSc Degree students in microbiology program. Convenor of several MSc examinations committee. Published more than 40 research papers. Reviewed several international papers and many research proposals and reports sent by OVPR/KU. Participated in the evaluation of many Scientific poster day held by the Faculty of Science. Hasan Alhaddad is an associate professor of genetics at Kuwait University where he teaches several undergraduate and graduate courses. His research experience and expertise revolve around applying genomic tools to understand population dynamics and identify phenotype and disease-associated DNA variants. Currently his research lab is devoted to study the dromedary camel applying both genomic and morphometric methods (for details see https://hagenetics.org).

Dr. A. Husain is an associate professor at Kuwait University, Kuwait. He received his B.Sc. degree from Kuwait University, Kuwait, in 2006. In 2008, He travelled to USA to complete his higher education, M.Sc. and Ph.D., at the University of South Florida, Tampa, FL, in Chemistry supervised by Dr. K. Bisht working on designing and synthesizing novel glycosylated macrocycles based on resorcin[4]arenes and their rigid cores, cavitands, and their applications in green organic catalysis in an ideal environment, water. He then moved back to Kuwait to join Kuwait University as an assistant professor (2016-2021).His current research activities are focused on constructing new heterogeneous catalysts based on resorcin[4]arene/cavitand structures immobilized onto water-insoluble nanoparticle and organic materials, such as, Fe3O4, graphene, carbon-nanotubes, TiO2, polymers, etc.

Prof. Ali Bumajdad is a Professor at Chemistry Department, Kuwait University. He received his B.Sc. from Kuwait University in 1995, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from University of Bristol (UK), in 1996 and 2000, respectively. His specialty is nanoparticles and nanotechnology with focus on surfaces properties of nanomaterials. He has special interests synthesizing, characterizing and test the catalytic activity of nanomaterials prepared using wet chemistry methods with focus on colloidal templates and sol/gel processes. In his research he also targeted materials with environmental, renewable energy, sensors, and green chemistry applications, magnetic. Prof. Bumajdad Published more that 80 peer-reviewed paper and he is a reviewer to 50 international journals in the field of materials and nanotechnology.

Chidambaram Sabarathinam is an Acting Program Manager and a Research Scientist in Water resources management and development program of Water Research Centre at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Kuwait. He has 250 publications in the refereed journals, 10 books, 58 conference proceedings, and 12 chapters in books. The article published by his team on defloruidation by natural materials in Applied Water Science journal was awarded as the best paper of the year in 2013. He was also awarded a medal for the best contribution in the field of Hydrogeology and Environmental Geochemistry in 2016 by the Indian Society of Applied Geochemists, Hyderabad. Dr. Héctor Mayagoitia Domínguez lecture series award was conferred on him for Excellence Professorship in Environmental Sciences on 2018, Mexico City. He has also served as an expert for International atomic energy agency for different missions related to groundwater isotopes.
